Fundraising Efforts by Hays Travel Personal Travel Consultants
Hays Travel Personal Travel Consultants successfully raised close to £5,000 for charity, supported by match funding from the Hays Travel Foundation. The funds are allocated to Young Minds, a charity focused on children’s mental health. Over 150 homeworkers actively participated in the fundraising event, demonstrating a robust collaborative spirit within the company.
The Bingo Event
The charity drive was centred around a virtual bingo event held in December, which proved to be an engaging and effective fundraising strategy. Personal Travel Consultants (PTCs) contributed £10 per game during the day and £20 for evening games. Their contributions accumulated to £2,445, which was then matched by the Hays Travel Foundation. As an incentive, all donors were entered into a prize draw, adding a layer of excitement to the event.
Tanya Cooper, head of Hays Travel PTC, along with a team of business development coaches, coordinated the event to maximise participation. Cooper mentioned, “We are very grateful to our supplier partners for their huge generosity.”
Prizes and Sponsorships
The event featured numerous prizes, donated by various supplier partners including Vista, Celebrity Cruises, Beachcomber, Cosmos, MSC, and many others.
The prizes, including fabulous hampers, vouchers, and treats, were well-received by the participants, amplifying the event’s success. Additionally, three familiarisation trips were among the prizes, creating further interest and enthusiasm among the consultants.
Collaboration and Community Impact
Hays Travel’s chief operating officer, Jonathon Woodall-Johnston, praised the initiative, stating, “The day was a massive success – making a huge £2,445 for Young Minds – and really brought our network of PTCs together.”
The event not only raised a substantial amount for a good cause but also strengthened the sense of community and collaboration among Hays Travel’s homeworkers. The positive feedback received underscores the event’s impact both internally and externally.
Support from Supplier Partners
The significant role played by supplier partners was crucial for the event’s success. Their contributions of prizes and sponsorship were instrumental in driving engagement and participation among the consultants. This underscores the importance of industry collaboration in achieving charitable goals.
Cooper highlighted the suppliers’ generosity, noting that their support added immense value to the event and helped incentivise more donations.
Future Initiatives
Following the success of this event, Hays Travel anticipates organising similar initiatives to support various charitable causes. The positive response and substantial funds raised have set a promising precedent for future fundraising activities.
With the collaboration model established, future events are expected to garner even more participation and support from both within and outside the organisation.
