A couple from Wrexham have uncovered a remarkable opportunity amidst challenging times. Transitioning from the hospitality sector, they have embarked on a new venture, launching their own travel agency.

Ian Pritchard-Jones and Rich Goodwin’s story is a testament to resilience and adaptability. Leveraging their extensive skills in hospitality, they have successfully established Tailormade Escapes, a part of the Not Just Travel franchise.

Facing redundancy together can be daunting, but for Ian Pritchard-Jones and Rich Goodwin, it sparked an innovative idea. With strong backgrounds in hospitality, they had a wealth of transferable skills crucial to running their new travel agency. Their experience in customer service, business acumen, and marketing were pivotal in their transition.

Pritchard-Jones remarked, “Within a tough situation, they say every cloud has got a silver lining. It actually pushed us into doing something radical.” This sentiment reflects their determination to turn adversity into an avenue for growth.

To continue their growth, the duo is set to participate in training trips to destinations like Crete, further enhancing their skills and business acumen.

Moreover, upcoming plans to advertise in local newspapers and leverage social media platforms aim to broaden their outreach.

Such trends have reinforced their strategy to offer diverse holiday packages, aiming for growth in various travel sectors.

They believe that continuous learning and adaptation are crucial, emphasising the importance of understanding different holiday types.

Redundancy, while initially daunting, has proven to be a catalyst for positive change. It has driven Ian and Rich to innovate and adapt, resulting in the creation of a flourishing business.

Ian and Rich’s entrepreneurial journey exemplifies turning adversity into opportunity. By utilising their hospitality experience, they are redefining their career paths and contributing to the travel sector.
