Royal Caribbean International has unveiled plans for a new destination in Cozumel, Mexico, set to open in 2026. This expansion underlines their strategy to diversify cruise offerings.

The ‘Royal Beach Club Cozumel’ will complement the line’s impressive portfolio, offering guests a unique blend of leisure, adventure, and cultural immersion.

The Royal Beach Club Cozumel will offer a variety of amenities designed to create an ideal getaway. Guests can enjoy pristine beaches and pools, swim-up bars, and private cabanas.

This destination will feature an array of dining options, including a restaurant, bar, and lounge. It will also host a street market, enhancing the cultural experience with local flavours.

For adventure seekers, the club will offer snorkelling and kayaking, providing ample opportunities to explore the coastal waters.

Guests will have the chance to engage in hands-on experiences, such as tequila tastings and cooking classes, aiming to connect visitors with Mexican culture.

Royal Caribbean’s expansion into Cozumel is part of their broader strategy to enrich their destination offerings.

The development of the beach club has been executed in collaboration with the local community and government, strengthening these key relationships.

“We are delighted to build on our longstanding partnership with the local community and government,” stated Jason Liberty, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group.

This new venture follows the success of their Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas, which underwent significant transformation in 2019.

The addition of Cozumel is expected to draw comparisons, offering similar high-quality experiences tailored to its unique location.

As demand for unique travel experiences grows, the Royal Beach Club Cozumel comes at a time when the cruise industry is rapidly evolving.

“The anticipation for what’s next has only continued to build,” expressed Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.

Despite progress, the expansion follows a delay in the launch of Royal Caribbean’s new ship, Star of the Seas, now postponed to August 2025.

Such setbacks highlight the ongoing challenges within the industry, yet they have not hindered the pursuit of new projects.

Royal Caribbean continues to engage with stakeholders at various levels, ensuring that new projects meet both guest expectations and regional requirements.

The Royal Beach Club Cozumel is set to enrich the regional tourism landscape, promising memorable experiences for visitors.

As Royal Caribbean advances with this project, they reinforce their commitment to offering diverse travel experiences, integrating local culture and adventure.
