In the wake of the recent general election, Tui has experienced an unprecedented uptick in interest for sun holidays, underlining a clear preference among consumers to seek leisure beyond political events. According to the travel company, searches for summer package holidays have surged by nearly 20%, complemented by a more than 10% rise in bookings, particularly notable on the Sunday following the election.

Further contributing to this trend is the remarkable increase in searches for winter sun holidays, which have climbed by almost 30%. This upward trajectory in demand signifies a strong interest among travellers in planning their seasonal getaways well ahead of time.

The most searched destinations include Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, and the Canary Islands. Each of these locations has witnessed a more than 20% week-on-week increase in web searches, reflecting their enduring appeal to holidaymakers.

Additionally, positive booking trends have been observed across several UK regions. The Midlands reported a booking increase of 19%, with Northern areas and Scotland also showing significant growth. This geographic spread of interest highlights a nationwide eagerness to embark on travel adventures.
