Landal GreenParks UK has experienced a notable surge in bookings driven by a trend towards longer staycations. The company, specialising in self-catering holidays, has reported a 24% year-on-year increase in sales from the start of July. This upward trend is largely attributed to the rising number of holidaymakers opting for extended stays.
In particular, the southwest region has seen a remarkable 57% growth in 14-night bookings, with 60% of all reservations extending to seven nights or more. This reflects a growing preference among holidaymakers to spend longer periods enjoying the attractions and amenities offered by these destinations.
Responding to the surge in demand, Landal GreenParks has expanded its offerings by adding two new parks earlier this year. In Cornwall, the introduction of Landal Whalesborough Resort & Spa and additional lodges at Landal Bude Coastal Resort and Landal Clowance have been pivotal in accommodating the increased interest.
The addition of diverse facilities, including indoor swimming pools and restaurants, has significantly enhanced the appeal of these resorts, particularly for international visitors. Notably, 67% of the inbound tourists hail from the Netherlands, with Germans constituting 15% of this demographic.
Managing Director Paul Hardingham highlighted that the data underscores a growing trend for longer summer getaways. He noted that guests are keen to maximise time with family while exploring various UK attractions, making the most of their holiday experiences.
The trend towards longer staycations is evidently fuelling growth for Landal GreenParks UK, with new and expanded offerings meeting rising demand.
