Julie Coker has been named as the new president and chief executive of NYC Tourism + Conventions, succeeding Fred Dixon. She will assume her duties on December 9, after a successful tenure as president and CEO at the San Diego Tourism Authority. In San Diego, Coker was instrumental in promoting the city as a prime destination for various travellers and event organisers.

Transitioning from San Diego to New York City, Coker’s leadership style is expected to significantly impact NYC’s tourism strategies.
