Azamara Cruises is set to make a notable return to Alaska in the summer of 2026 after a seven-year hiatus, marking a significant development for the cruise industry.

The cruise line’s re-entry into the Alaskan market has been prompted by extensive feedback from travel agents and customers, highlighting Alaska’s enduring appeal as a sought-after destination.

Starting in May 2026, Azamara Pursuit will offer 10- to 13-day cruises featuring prolonged port stays of more than 10 hours, allowing travellers to fully engage with local cultures through indigenous community encounters and diverse wildlife excursions such as whale-watching, bear spotting, and glacier hiking.

In particular, guests will have access to exclusive remote locations that large ships cannot reach, ensuring an intimate exploration of Alaska’s natural beauty.

Dondra Ritzenthaler, CEO of Azamara Cruises, has emphasized that the company does not merely transport guests to Alaska, but rather provides them with a deep immersion into its rich culture, bringing them to intimate destinations beyond the reach of larger ships.

As Azamara strengthens support for the travel trade, the introduction of RezA represents a step forward in improving service efficiency and agent satisfaction.

This move is part of Azamara’s broader strategy to offer unique travel experiences that allow guests to connect deeply with their destination, offering more than conventional cruise tours.

By focusing on cultural and destination immersion, the company aligns its offerings with the growing trend of experiential travel, ensuring that guests receive a comprehensive and enriching experience in Alaska.

Azamara Cruises’ return to Alaska in 2026 promises an enhanced, culturally immersive travel experience, resonating with their vision of offering unparalleled cruise journeys.
