At Cersaie 2026, VitrA Tiles presented The Code concept to industry professionals. It also revealed a series of innovations. Both were framed by the brand’s Material Intelligence approach.
Bologna, Italy: VitrA Tiles took part in Cersaie 2026, the international exhibition for ceramic tiles and bathroom furnishings. The event ran from September 21-25 in Bologna, Italy. There, the company welcomed architects, designers, customers and industry professionals. Its stand was built around the Material Intelligence concept. On it, VitrA Tiles presented its new 2027 collections alongside fresh innovations.
“Every material has a code. Material Intelligence deciphers it.” This idea sits at the heart of the VitrA Tiles design philosophy. The brand takes materials found in nature and reinterprets them. It does so by blending research, advanced technology and design know-how. It draws on nature’s aesthetic and technical potential. The result is a range of original surfaces. These offer new inspiration for contemporary architecture.

Three Languages of Design
The Code concept brings together three design languages. These shape the Resincode, Geocode and Metacode collections. Visitors to Cersaie can see all three on the VitrA Tiles stand.
Resincode takes its cue from natural concrete. It echoes the porous, mineral-rich texture of that material. Natural transitions and layered effects run across the surface. The look is minimalist, balanced and refined, suited to contemporary interiors. Geocode is inspired by Spanish limestone, marble, quartzite and gneiss. It carries the varied geological heritage of natural stone onto ceramic surfaces. The interpretation is thoroughly contemporary. It comes in four surface typologies, each one distinct: Alba, Imperio, Rio and Merano. Metacode comes in three separate surfaces, toned in gold, iron and copper. It recreates the texture of patinated metal on ceramic. Subtle tonal shifts and soft reflections define it. Industrial character meets a refined aesthetic.

Fresh Technologies
VitrA Tiles also used Cersaie 2026 to present its V-Flex and V-Tone innovations. These sat alongside the new collections.
V-Flex runs on Välinge’s Ceraloc® locking technology. It is a system for laying tiles that needs no adhesives. Special side profiles let the tiles lock together mechanically. This sets it apart from conventional bonded tiling. Installation can be up to five times faster. It helps keep tiles precisely aligned, with even grout lines. It delivers a clean, professional finish. Single tiles can be lifted out and replaced when required. This makes maintenance and repair far simpler. The system also provides acoustic comfort. V-Flex is recommended for shops, retail chains, showrooms, offices and hotels. It also suits educational facilities and commercial spaces.

V-Tone tackles tonal variation in ceramic production. It keeps colour consistent from one surface to the next. It also protects the integrity of the design. VitrA Tiles is still integrating V-Tone technology into its production lines.
