British Airways, a UK-based airline company, is increasing its present number of flights to Morocco and launching a new route to the German city of Dusseldorf.

The airline is increasing its flights to Marrakech in Morocco to 10 from the current seven departures per week, and a third weekly service is being added to Agadir. Both of the new Moroccan services begin in October, with Marrakech commencing from the 28th of the month, and the extra Agadir flight starting a day later on the 29th.

BA’s regional commercial manager for Africa, Ian Petrie, said, ‘The acquisition of bmi has enabled us to increase our flights in Africa to serve 18 routes in 15 countries. We now fly to more places, more often than we ever have before in the 80 years we have served the continent. These flights link growing African destinations to London and provide onward connections to the world’s business capitals.’

BA has also announced that it will offer a three-times daily service from London City airport to Dusseldorf in Germany from September 1 this year. The company will operate the route with 50-seat Saab 2000 aircraft that will depart London City at 0735, 1425 and 1855. Flights from Dusseldorf to London City will depart daily at 0635, 1315 and 1800. The one-way fare for the route will start from £79, to include up to 23kgs of hold luggage, seat selection on check-in 24 hours before departure and complimentary food and drink.

British Airways general manager commercial at London City, Luke Hayhoe, commented, ‘We have launched a number of new leisure routes from London City in the past couple of years. Now we are very excited to be going to a great business city like Dusseldorf, which offers significant trade links with the city of London.’
