Beginning in March 2025, Air Canada will restore its non-stop flights between Heathrow and Ottawa.

Offering four weekly departures through late October, this service aims to enhance connectivity for travellers seeking direct access to Canada’s capital.

Air Canada is set to reinstate its non-stop flights between London Heathrow and Ottawa starting March 31, 2025. This announcement signals the resumption of a significant route that had been paused due to the pandemic. The service will be conducted using the state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner, designed to provide an exceptional flying experience with enhanced comfort and efficiency.

For return journeys, flights are planned to leave Ottawa in the evening, with Monday and Thursday departures at 6:40 PM, arriving at Heathrow at 6:30 AM the next day. Wednesday and Saturday flights will depart at 8:55 PM, arriving at 8:35 AM. These timings cater well to both business and leisure travellers, offering ideal overnight travel options.

The renewed London-Ottawa route is part of Air Canada’s broader strategy to boost international connectivity. Michael Crockatt, president and CEO of Ottawa Tourism, highlighted the route’s importance for fostering cultural and business exchanges between the UK and Canada’s capital. This strategic development is expected to attract more visitors to Ottawa, enhancing its appeal as a prime destination for both tourists and conference delegates.

The Airbus A321XLR promises a larger cabin and more fuel-efficient flights, catering to growing demand and environmental considerations. These aircraft acquisitions are part of Air Canada’s commitment to augmenting its international network while enhancing passenger comfort.

Ottawa’s connectivity to the UK market strengthens its position as a key international hub. The resumption of this route is expected to stimulate economic activity by attracting tourists, supporting local businesses, and increasing access to international markets.

The return of this service illustrates Air Canada’s resilience and adaptability in meeting passenger needs and market demands. Future developments will likely continue to prioritise customer experience and route efficiency.

The Ottawa service will operate from Heathrow Terminal 2, known as The Queen’s Terminal, providing convenient and streamlined transit for passengers. Heathrow’s facilities offer a range of services that cater to international travellers, enhancing the overall travel experience.

The relaunch of Air Canada’s non-stop Heathrow to Ottawa flights marks a significant step in rebuilding international travel networks.

This service not only meets the demands of passengers but also strengthens economic and cultural ties between the UK and Canada.
