Dublin Airport has said that airBaltic is planning to launch a new Dublin-Riga service for summer.

Starting March 31, the new service will operate four times per week to the Latvian capital. airBaltic serves over 70 destinations from Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius, offering connections to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, the CIS and the Middle East. Tickets for the new Riga service are available to book.

Dublin Airport Managing Director Vincent Harrison said, ‘This new service to Riga will further enhance the connectivity between Ireland and Latvia and is good news for passengers as it will offer additional choice and convenience.’

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic added, ‘This route has had strong demand for years now and we are very happy that we can add flights between the two cities to our expanding route portfolio. airBaltic passengers now will have direct flights to Riga with the new Airbus A220-300 aircraft.’

Earlier in December, Ryanair announced plans to launch new services from Dublin Airport to the Croatian cities of Dubrovnik and Split in 2019.

The new services will operate twice weekly starting from June as part of Ryanair’s summer 2019 schedule. Ryanair will have 13 new services from Dublin Airport for summer to Bodrum, Bordeaux, Bournemouth, Caligari, Dubrovnik, Frankfurt, Gothenburg, Kyiv, London Southend, Lourdes, Luxembourg, Split and Thessaloniki, it said.

Currently, Dublin Airport operates flights to almost 190 destinations in 43 countries, operated by 56 airlines.
