    British Airways and American Express have joined forces to introduce a new opportunity for British Airways Executive Club Members.

    In an unprecedented move, members can now accumulate Tier Points through everyday spending on the British Airways American Express Premium Plus Card. This collaboration provides a novel avenue to unlock travel benefits, including lounge access.

    This initiative, available until May 21, 2024, allows eligible Cardmembers to earn an additional 200 Tier Points by using their card for various transactions. Tier Points, traditionally earned through flying, contribute to achieving airline status and provide a range of perks such as priority boarding, fast-track security, increased luggage allowances, and lounge access.

    Cardmembers of the British Airways American Express Premium Plus Card can earn up to 200 Tier Points through the following spending thresholds:

    * 100 Tier Points for a £15,000 spend

    * An additional 50 Tier Points for an extra £5,000 spend (totalling £20,000)

    * Another 50 Tier Points for an additional £5,000 spend (totalling £25,000)

    To participate in the offer, Cardmembers must enroll in their online account by May 20, 2024. The spending must occur after enrollment and before the offer expires on May 21, 2024, to qualify.

    These earned Tier Points will complement those acquired through air travel, aiding in reaching British Airways Bronze, Silver, or Gold status. Each status level brings valuable travel benefits, such as free seat selection, lounge access, additional baggage allowances, and more.

    Colm Lacy, British Airways’ Chief Commercial Offer, said: ‘Over the last year, we’ve introduced lots of improvements to our Executive Club loyalty programme. We expanded our Reward Flight Savers programme to 100% of the network last December, enabled Members to use their Avios towards a British Airways Holidays booking in February and introduced Avios-Only flights in April. Making Tier Points available as part of everyday spend is just the latest step in rewarding our customers more than ever.’

    Current benefits for British Airways American Express Premium Plus Cardmembers include earning 1.5 Avios for every £1 spent on purchases and 3 Avios for every £1 spent with British Airways or British Airways Holidays. Additionally, Cardmembers can earn a Companion Voucher, granting a companion free travel on the same flight and in the same cabin, or a 50% discount on the Avios price when traveling solo.
