As global travel dynamics shift, business travel is showing resilience. Today’s trends indicate an evolving landscape focused on longer trips and increased use of premium services.

The Advantage Travel Partnership reports that business travel volumes in 2023 have remarkably returned to 92% of pre-pandemic levels. This demonstrates a significant rebound and reflects a stabilising trend in the industry. The average transaction value also shows growth, marking a 5.7% increase from 2022 and an impressive 44.8% rise compared to 2019 figures.

Guy Snelgar from Advantage Travel Partnership emphasises moving beyond pre-Covid comparisons to understand the evolving ‘new normal’.

Bernardo Botella of Air Europa highlights the transformative potential of blockchain and AI in enhancing travel services and client experiences, aiming for greater reliability and autonomy.

The business travel sector is seeing a resurgence, closely approaching pre-pandemic levels. With travel durations extending and technologies evolving, the future appears promising for business travel dynamics.
