easyJet, a UK-based airline, has celebrated the launch of its newest service from London Southend Airport to Tenerife, the largest of the seven Canary Islands.
As part of the celebrations, ‘The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE)’ star, Pascal Craymer, donned her beachwear to enjoy the beach scene, specially created in front of the terminal at London Southend Airport.
The new twice weekly service to the warm beaches of the Canary Island will take off for the first time today.
Said to be an ideal destination for sun seekers, the Canary Islands have a uniquely steady climate with almost constant sunshine, minimal rainfall, volcanic origins and an average year-round temperature of 22 degrees. Over 11,000 passengers are expected to benefit from the new 4-hour easyJet flights from Southend, which depart each Tuesday and Friday. The flights are available for booking with fares available from as little as £33.49 one way, including taxes.
Hugh Aitken, easyJet’s UK commercial manager said: ‘We’re thrilled to be launching easyJet’s 16th destination from London Southend to the sunshine island of Tenerife today. It’s the perfect choice for winter sun seekers from Southend and beyond and we’re sure our new easy and affordable services will be very popular.’
Model and trainee stuntwoman, Pascal, said: ‘I am absolutely delighted to be here at London Southend Airport launching flights to Tenerife. It’s great to have a fantastic, fast and friendly airport right here on our doorstep, all my friends and family use it and love it – the only way to fly is easyJet from London Southend!’
London Southend Airport operations director, David Lister, who joined Pascal on the beach, said: ‘We are delighted to add easyJet’s new services to Tenerife to the destinations we offer here at London Southend Airport and are sure it is going to prove hugely popular – it is undoubtedly one of those our customers have been asking for. It’s great that we’re now able to give people in Essex and beyond the chance to go and top up their tans through these colder months.’
