IHG Hotels & Resorts and Just a Drop are embarking on a collaborative project to support water initiatives in Kenya and Cambodia.

Through the ‘Water for All’ pilot scheme, select voco hotels aim to enhance their sustainability efforts and guest involvement.

Charity Just a Drop has initiated a pilot collaboration with IHG Hotels & Resorts to generate funds for safe drinking water and sanitation initiatives in Kenya and Cambodia. This venture, named ‘Water for All’, is being conducted in five voco hotels around the globe, focusing on filtered water initiatives.

The ‘Water for All’ programme is rolling out across specific locations, including voco Oxford Thames and voco Reading in the UK, as well as voco Johannesburg Rosebank in South Africa, voco Orchard in Singapore, and voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley in Australia. This aligns with voco’s sustainability protocols and the provision of complimentary filtered water in guest rooms.

Just a Drop is committed to using these donations to finance two pivotal projects: providing secure water access and sanitation for communities in Kenya and Cambodia. The project highlights a collaborative effort towards global water accessibility.

Fiona Jeffery, founder and chair of Just a Drop, expressed enthusiasm, noting the initiative’s potential: “This project has vast potential for good and will be transformational.” She underscores the critical impact of the collaboration, presenting an opportunity for real positive change from ‘Water for All’.

‘Water for All’ is more than a project; it’s a vision aligned with IHG’s sustainability goals, promising significant improvements in public health and quality of life in the targeted regions.

By directing efforts towards these crucial areas, the partnership between Just a Drop and IHG is not just about providing water but ensuring sustainable health benefits for the communities involved. The initiative is a testament to the power of collaborative efforts in addressing global challenges.

Key stakeholders are optimistic about extending the programme’s framework, fostering enhanced community relations and environmental responsibility across the hospitality industry.

The collaboration between IHG and Just a Drop marks a significant step in achieving sustainable water solutions.

With focused efforts on community support and environmental responsibility, the initiative has the potential to set a benchmark in the hospitality sector.
