The airline added 20 Boeing 777-9 planes to its existing order at the Farnborough Airshow.

In a strategic move to bolster its fleet, Qatar Airways has confirmed the addition of 20 Boeing 777-9 aircraft to its existing order. This expansion brings Qatar Airways’ total order to 94 Boeing 777X aircraft, marking a significant commitment to enhancing its long-haul capabilities.

This announcement was made at the prestigious Farnborough International Airshow 2024. The added aircraft will not only expand capacity but are also expected to incorporate the latest technologies in passenger comfort and operational efficiency.

A highlight of this expansion is the introduction of the Qsuite Next Gen business class on the new Boeing 777-9 aircraft. This state-of-the-art product promises to redefine business travel with its cutting-edge features.

The Qsuite Next Gen includes movable monitors with Bluetooth connectivity, larger lie-flat and double beds, lockable drawers, and a touchscreen passenger control unit. These enhancements aim to offer passengers a superior in-flight experience.

Mohammed Al-Meer, Qatar Airways Group chief executive, expressed pride in the expansion, stating, “Qatar Airways is proud to announce an expansion to the existing Boeing 777X aircraft order with an additional 20, totalling 94 Boeing 777X aircraft.” His statement underscores the airline’s commitment to maintaining a modern and efficient fleet.

Stephanie Pope, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, acknowledged the significance of this order.
