Millennium and Copthorne Hotels, a UK based hotel company, has reported a low RevPar (revenue per available room) at its London properties during the days before the 2012 Olympics, according to its half yearly statements, which were released recently. Eastern Airways, a UK-based airline, has acquired a majority ownership in UK-based Humberside Airport. The Manchester Airport Group (MAG), the UK based holding company that owns Humberside Airport, has sold its 87.2 percent stake in the property to the Eastern Group, the holding company for owners of the regional carrier, Eastern Airways. It has been reported that there will be no change in the current management on completion of the sale. North Lincolnshire Council, which is a minority stockholder in Humberside Airport, will be retaining its share in the facility. British Airways, the UK based airline company, has launched a new app for the iPhone, called Perfect Day, so that its passengers can capture and share their happy memories with others. The App, which was initially launched as a Facebook App, will allow the airline’s customers to share their perfect holiday memories with their families and friends. The App is an expansion of the company’s earlier versions, and offers features including reviews or ‘travel snippets’, made from uploaded pictures and descriptions, which may be tagged at the locations on Google maps. A survey has shown that British citizens consider that the possibility of being in the vicinity of unruly children is their biggest apprehension when travelling. The survey by TripAdvisor, which is claimed to be one of the world’s largest travel sites, said that having to tolerate misbehaving children was one of the most negative flying experiences for Britons. The survey, which questioned 2,000 UK citizens, set out to discover what concerned them the most while taking a flight. Volotea, considered to be the newest low-cost airline in Europe, has announced that it has teamed up with a European car rental company to provide an enhanced service for its passengers. The company said that it has entered into a multi-year car rental partnership with CarTrawler. The arrangement means that travellers using the services of the air carrier will benefit from the company’s exclusive arrangement with the care-rental company.
