British Airways has said that it has resumed its nonstop service between Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and London Heathrow on Friday, November 19. WestJet has said that it will add a non-stop service to Calgary from London’s Heathrow Airport beginning early Spring 2022. The addition of the new non-stop service between Calgary and London-Heathrow is expected to facilitate recovery of business and leisure travel between the two destinations. The new route will operate this spring on the airline’s 787 Dreamliner. easyJet, the UK-based regional airline, has said that it will add an additional aircraft to its Bristol base, bringing the fleet to 17 aircraft for next summer. As announced, an additional A320 aircraft will be based at Bristol Airport for next summer, enabling easyJet to serve 176,00 passengers travelling to and from the UK. This follows the airline’s recent expansion in Barcelona, as well as the seasonal bases of Faro, Malaga and Palma, which will all be receiving additional aircraft for the summer 2022 season. Following the reopening of US borders for British holidaymakers, British Airways has announced the resumption of its first US transatlantic flight from Gatwick to Tampa, Florida. The airline’s services to Tampa will operate three times a week. British Airways will also resume flights from Gatwick to holiday-hotspot Orlando on Friday November 19. Ryanair, the Ireland-based budget airline, has said that it has released its winter 2021/22 ski schedule from UK airports. Celebrating the start of ski season, Ryanair has launched a £29.99 seat sale for travel from January 1 to the end of March 2022. Vueling, an International Airlines Group (IAG) member airline, has announced the launch of its first flight from Newcastle International Airport to the French capital Paris. The low fares airline announced the route at the beginning of October, and will operate flights twice-weekly between Newcastle and Paris Orly from now until the end of March 2022. Flights depart from Newcastle International Airport at 08:15, arriving in Paris Orly at 11:00. Ryanair has announced its Summer 2022 schedule from East Midlands Airport with over 30 routes and 130 weekly flights across 31 European destinations from April. With the new schedule, UK families and travellers can now book a summer holiday to European hotspots such as Alicante, Barcelona, Lanzarote, Malaga, Mallorca, Rhodes and Tenerife, among others. Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) announced on Tuesday, November 2, that Hyatt has completed the previously announced acquisition of Apple Leisure Group(R) (ALG), a luxury resort-management services, travel and hospitality group, from affiliates of each of KKR and KSL Capital Partners, LLC. The UK government’s transport secretary Grant Shapps has today announced that all remaining countries on England’s red list for international travel have been removed. The cabinet minister announced that the Latin American countries of Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Peru and Venezuela were taken off the list at 4am on November 1. This means arrivals will no longer need to spend 11 nights in a quarantine hotel at a cost of £2,285.
