Best Western Falmouth Beach Hotel, a luxury hotel in Falmouth, Cornwall, UK, has been severely damaged in a fire which started early in the afternoon of April 29, 2012. Around 100 fire fighters tackled the fire. There were no fatalities, and 30 guests were moved to safety. The fire had started on the third floor of the property, and strong winds caused it to spread rapidly through the building, destroying the infrastructure and causing the roof to cave in. Ryanair, an Ireland-based low cost airline, has announced new flights, from Dublin and Derry, in Ireland, to London Gatwick Airport, in England, for the finals of Heineken Cup ruby competition. The airline is offering 10 additional flights from London Gatwick Airport to Dublin, and two extra flights between Derry and London Gatwick, for the Heineken Cup final to be played on May 19, 2012, in London, between Ulster, a team that is Belfast based, and Leinster, from Dublin. Virgin Trains has announced changes in its scheduled services due to improvement work to be carried out by Network Rail, the UK-based company that owns and operates most of the rail infrastructure in Great Britain. Greenwich, a borough close to central London, will be hosting a large cruise liner terminal, once the authorities grant approval for the development. The cruise liner terminal will have the capacity to allow anchoring of large cruise ships beyond the Thames Barrier. The new dockyard will be able to offer anchorage to ships up to 240 metres in length and receive around 100 ships every year, once it is completed. Heathrow Airport is facing massive queues at immigration, creating a nightmare scenario for airlines operating out of the airport, and for arriving passengers. Corporate flight bookings are set to increase in 2012, as the travel industry experiences a growth phase. Birmingham Airport, located close to the city of Birmingham, has announced plans for new services to China.
