Beatles Fans Can Live The Yellow Submarine Experience

Fans of The Beatles pop band can now enjoy the ultimate live-aboard experience by booking accommodation on the Fab-Four-themed Yellow Submarine.

The iconic bright yellow vessel is moored at Albert Dock in the city of Liverpool, the hometown of all four members of the band. It is a converted canal narrow boat, but now has a psychedelic sixties-style interior that includes one of the scooters from the film, Quadrophenia.

The brainchild of Alfie Bubbles, a businessman, the Yellow Submarine takes its inspiration from The Beatles EP of the same name that was released in January 1969, and the animated movie that accompanied it. The boat’s painstaking refit includes sixties-style decor, furnishings and memorabilia, and a 3D television, computer and wi-fi in all rooms, including the three bedrooms.

The vessel has already had an illustrious existence, having previously been owned by film studio, Paramount Pictures, and used in the movie, ‘The Hunt for the Red October,’ which starred Sean Connery.

Accommodation on the ‘submarine’ can be booked for £149 per night from Monday to Thursday, and £299 and £350 from Friday to Sunday.

53-year old Mr Bubbles had already launched a Batman-themed floating hotel in Liverpool last year, and it was the success of that venture, which has attracted bookings from travellers worldwide, that encouraged him to develop the Beatles-themed attraction.

The entrepreneur has no intention of letting up on his winning formula, with other themed floating hotels already on the drawing board, including the Titanic and Captain Jack Sparrow’s ship, the Black Pearl, from the film Pirates of the Caribbean.
