Flybe commences new summer route to Newquay from Aberdeen

Flybe, the UK-based low-fares airline, has launched its new weekly summer flights between Aberdeen and Cornwall Airport Newquay on Saturday, May 28, giving travellers direct access to one of the UK’s top summer destinations.

Taking two hours, the new Saturday flight service takes around nine hours less compared to travelling by car. With the shortest train journeys from Aberdeen to Newquay taking over 14 hours, including up to four changes, travellers choosing to fly can save nearly 24 extra hours of holiday time.

Vincent Hodder, Flybe’s Chief Revenue Officer, comments: ‘Our new route to Newquay from Aberdeen opens up a whole new part of the country to travellers who may previously have been put off by the long journey times. We have all experienced driving or taking the train at peak holiday times, often an extremely stressful experience, especially for families taking a well-earned break.

‘This convenient new route confirms our customer promise to be the ‘Fastest way from A to Flybe’, faster than road or rail. We look forward to welcoming all our new passengers on board this summer.’

Carol Benzie, Managing Director at Aberdeen Airport, said: ‘Flybe has proven to be a very popular airline in Aberdeen Airport serving UK destinations such as: London City, Manchester, Jersey, Norwich and Birmingham. This expansion of flights to Newquay will be a welcome addition for business or leisure travel and we wish Flybe all the best with this new launch.’

In addition to the new route to Cornwall Newquay Airport, Flybe’s 2016 summer schedule from Aberdeen includes extra flights to Belfast City, Birmingham and Manchester with a total additional choice of up to 13 extra flights a week to these city destinations.

There are also two flights a day to London City, with early morning and late afternoon flight timings for travellers looking for day return options. In addition, Flybe’s Jersey route will also return for peak summer with weekly Saturday flights, the airport had said in November 2015.

One way fares are available at www.flybe.com from £29.99 including taxes and charges.
