Lesley Taylor has been announced as the new UK Managing Director for Cosmos, Globus, and Avalon Waterways, succeeding Giles Hawke.

This decision aligns with a strategic vision to bolster the company’s presence in the UK, leveraging Taylor’s extensive experience in customer experience and strategic roles.

Lesley Taylor’s journey with Avalon Waterways began in 1994, marking nearly three decades of dedication and expertise within the company. Her career has spanned various significant roles, emphasising her versatility and understanding of the business.

The transition in leadership comes as Giles Hawke moves on to a prominent role at Celebrity Cruises. Taylor’s appointment aims to provide continuity and stability in leadership, promising a seamless transition that maintains focus on customer satisfaction and agency partnerships.

In her new role, commencing on 1 July, Taylor plans to introduce innovative strategies that will enhance the brand’s offerings. Her vision includes strengthening partnerships with travel agents, improving team dynamics, and delivering exceptional holiday experiences for customers.

Scott Nisbet, CEO of Globus Family of Brands, expressed his confidence in Taylor’s leadership abilities. He noted that her appointment would inspire the team and ensure a consistent focus on customer excellence and business development.

Lesley Taylor herself is enthusiastic about the opportunities her new role presents. She is committed to building on the solid foundations laid by her predecessors, driving growth in the UK market, and enhancing the support provided to travel partners.

Taylor’s appointment is expected to have a far-reaching impact on the cruise industry, as her strategies could set new benchmarks for customer engagement and service quality within Avalon Waterways.
