Celestyal achieved a historic trading milestone with its highly successful leap year promotion on February 29.

The innovative campaign resulted in an extraordinary surge in sales, showcasing Celestyal’s adeptness in leveraging unique opportunities.

Leap Year Promotion Drives Unprecedented Sales

The leap year promotion titled ‘You just have to leap there’ led Celestyal to achieve unparalleled success on February 29. The exclusive one-day offer resulted in a monumental 630 percent increase in overall sales and a staggering 883 percent boost in online sales, marking an extraordinary achievement for the company.

The remarkable sales figures equate to more than a week’s worth of bookings accomplished in just a single day. This success is attributed to the attractive pricing strategy which included ‘all-in’ deals. The offers comprised a £65 per person shore excursion discount, full board, select drinks, port fees, and service charges.

    Innovative Pricing Strategy

The promotion offered an enticing rate of just £29 per person, per night, for select sailings on the Celestyal Journey across four itineraries. These itineraries span from March to October 2024, offering abundant opportunities for travellers to experience unique locations at remarkably low prices.

The campaign effectively capitalised on the extra day of the year, providing an irresistible deal that resonated well with potential customers. The strategic pricing and limited availability of this special offer created a sense of urgency, further boosting customer engagement and bookings.

    Celestyal’s Growth and Expansion

Gary Slade, head of tailor-made at Iglu Cruise, expressed enthusiasm over the collaboration with Celestyal. He stated, “Exciting times with Celestyal, we have just had our best week to date for them on the back of their leap year promotion.”

Celestyal’s recent acquisitions and refurbishments include the introduction of the Celestyal Journey, which is now sailing its maiden winter season, home-porting in Doha, and embarking on new Adriatic summer routes. The varied options available have proven attractive to a broad audience.

Additionally, Celestyal’s core Greek Island programme continues to attract significant interest, further contributing to the brand’s expanding market presence and strengthening its competitive positioning in the cruise industry.

Support and Demand from Trade Partners

Celestyal’s chief commercial officer, Lee Haslett, acknowledged the overwhelming support from trade partners and their significant role in the promotion’s success. He highlighted the release of additional capacity to meet the unprecedented demand, showcasing the promotion’s impressive reach.

Furthermore, with the launch of a refreshed fleet and new destinations, Celestyal continues to generate strong interest. The company’s current strategic focus includes maintaining momentum through various attractive wave deals available until March 17, coupled with a notable £100 booking incentive, further galvanising sales efforts.

    Strategic Trade Team Enhancements

In a proactive move last November, Celestyal announced its intention to double its trade team within 2024 to reinforce its trade support function.

This strategic decision is complemented by the introduction of a dedicated agent portal designed to significantly enhance communication and efficiency between Celestyal and its trade partners. The portal aims to streamline operations, enhance support, and ultimately drive sales.

    Commitment to Agent Support

Celestyal’s strategic initiatives underscore its commitment to strengthening trade relationships.

The expansion of the trade team and the development of the agent portal are pivotal to providing superior support and fostering growth within its partner network.

With continued support from trade partners and strategic enhancements, Celestyal is poised for further success and expansion.
