Windstar Cruises is set to revoke its COVID-19 vaccination mandate for passengers from June 2023. This marks a significant shift in policy for the luxury cruise line.

Despite the change for guests, crew members will still be required to be vaccinated and undergo regular health tests to ensure safety onboard. Windstar continues to prioritise health by maintaining robust sanitation measures.

Windstar Cruises has committed to enhancing health and safety measures across its fleet. According to Windstar’s statement, they have invested significantly in upgrading the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to incorporate advanced air filtration technology. This move aims to create a safer environment for both guests and crew, complementing the decision to lift vaccination requirements for passengers.

Windstar emphasises the importance of ongoing health monitoring. By implementing regular testing, the company aims to detect potential health issues early, thus preventing outbreaks and ensuring a safer environment for everyone on board.

Christopher Prelog, President of Windstar Cruises, stated, “We’ve invested in and improved our health and safety processes, including upgrading the HVAC systems on all of our ships, which has led to a cleaner and safer environment on board.” This marks a dedicated effort to adapt to new health challenges in the cruise industry.

The cruise line reassured that it remains committed to health protocols of the countries visited, ensuring compliance with regional public health standards.

This strategic move capitalises on growing demand for unique travel experiences, positioning Windstar as a leader in luxury and adventurous cruising.

Windstar’s proactive approach to hygiene and the implementation of state-of-the-art health measures are expected to appeal to cautious travellers, ensuring their comfort and security throughout the journey.

Windstar Cruises’ decision to lift its vaccination requirement for guests highlights a shift in the industry’s response to global health trends.

The continued emphasis on onboard safety ensures that the company remains a trusted choice for travellers seeking both luxury and security.
