Air Canada has announced the return of its non-stop international service between Ottawa and London Heathrow, commencing on March 31, 2025.

The flights, operated four times weekly, will use Air Canada’s Dreamliner fleet, offering a choice of three cabin classes: Signature Class, Premium Economy, and Economy. Tickets are now available for purchase on Air Canada’s website, app, through travel agents, and via Air Canada’s contact centres.

Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President – Revenue and Network Planning at Air Canada, expressed enthusiasm for the resumption of this key trans-Atlantic service, stating, ‘We are very pleased to solidify Air Canada’s leadership serving our country’s capital with the resumption of trans-Atlantic services beginning next spring. In addition to London being a top global destination, Heathrow is one of the world’s primary global gateways as well as home to Air Canada’s largest international operations.’

Starting March 31, 2025, Air Canada will resume its non-stop service between Ottawa and London Heathrow: Flight AC888 will depart from Ottawa (YOW) to London (LHR) on Mondays and Thursdays at 18:40, arriving at 06:30 the next day, and on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 20:55, arriving at 08:35 the following day. Conversely, Flight AC889 will depart from London (LHR) to Ottawa (YOW) on Mondays and Thursdays at 14:05, arriving at 16:35, and on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 12:40, arriving at 15:20.

The Ottawa-London Heathrow route will operate on a seasonal basis until October 25, 2025, with the potential for increased frequency and year-round service when Air Canada’s new Airbus A321XLR fleet begins arriving in late 2025. Air Canada’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights will feature a range of inflight services, including Wi-Fi connectivity and gourmet meals crafted by Canadian celebrity chefs. Passengers can also enjoy the benefits of Air Canada’s Aeroplan loyalty programme and access to the airline’s Maple Leaf Lounges.

Local leaders in Ottawa have welcomed the return of this international service, highlighting its positive impact on the region’s economy, tourism, and global connectivity. ‘We are truly excited for Air Canada to launch this flight between Ottawa and London. This will make it even easier for visitors from the UK – Ottawa’s top overseas market – and other key destinations to travel to Canada’s capital to visit friends and family, to attend a conference or sporting event, and to experience our celebrated cultural gems and easy access to that world renowned Canadian nature,’ said Michael Crockatt, President and CEO of Ottawa Tourism.
