Cornwall Airport Newquay has announced an expanded summer flight schedule, highlighting the airport’s rapid growth.
Following a record-breaking winter in 2023, Cornwall Airport Newquay is now offering more travel options. The number of airlines at the airport has nearly doubled since pre-pandemic times, increasing from six to 10, providing a wider range of destinations for travellers.
Cornwall Airport Newquay offers year-round services through carriers such as Loganair, Aer Lingus, Eastern Airways, and Ryanair. Seasonal carriers like SAS and Aurigny further expand the airport’s offerings during the summer peak, catering to increased traveller demand.
Notably, Cornwall Airport Newquay is the only airport in England on Edelweiss’ network, providing direct flights to Zurich. Edelweiss has increased its service frequency to twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Sundays, and extended its 2025 season to start at Easter.
Samantha O’Dwyer, Managing Director of Cornwall Airport Newquay, commented, ‘As we head towards the summer holidays, our commitment to providing exceptional air connectivity for Cornwall and beyond remains at the forefront of all our operations. We’re continuing to enhance our passengers’ experience at every opportunity – from upgrading our facilities to installing new WiFi, we want to ensure we’re keeping Cornwall connected every step of the way.’
In May 2024, the airport unveiled a newly refurbished cafe and retail area, adding 62 square metres of space. A state-of-the-art security system is also set to be introduced this year.
Further improvements include the expansion of car rental services, with Enterprise joining Hertz and Europcar, and the opening of a new headquarters for the on-site taxi service. These enhancements are part of the airport’s ongoing efforts to improve customer satisfaction and support its growth.
