easyJet, the UK-based low-fares airline, has announced plans to launch two new routes from Bristol Airport to Stockholm, Sweden’s capital city, and, Athens, the capital city of Greece, later this year.
The new easyJet service to Stockholm will start on October 31 2017, operating twice weekly on an A319 aircraft on Mondays and Thursdays year round with fares starting from £26.49. The new route to Athens will operate from November 6, 2017 every Monday and Friday on an A3320 aircraft with fares starting from £28.49 one-way. The rates are one-way, including taxes and based on two people on the same booking.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said: ‘We’re really pleased to announce these two new beautiful destinations to our network from Bristol Airport and we are confident they’ll be very popular with our passengers. Many people are already starting to plan ahead for their Winter holidays and with flights now on sale, they can take advantage of our low fares.’
Nigel Scott, Bristol Airport’s Business Development Director said: ‘The announcement of these two new routes by easyJet is very exciting news for Bristol Airport. Athens and Stockholm are destinations our customers have frequently told us they would like to see served directly from the region, and their addition to our network increases the number of European capital cities we serve to 18 – the largest number in the airport’s 60-year history.’
Separately, easyJet also said that it will start flying from Southampton Airport for the first time with the launch of a new winter only service to Geneva.
In addition, the UK-based airline announced six more routes from other UK airports. The services include: a weekly service from London Gatwick to Klagenfurt, Austria December 16, on Saturdays and available through the winter; a new route from Liverpool to Venice commencing October 31, operating twice weekly, year round on Tuesdays and Saturdays; London Luton to Sardinia starting November 28, operating twice weekly, year round on Tuesdays and Saturdays; London Luton to Seville starting October 29, operating three times weekly, year round on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays; Manchester to Agadir starting October 1, operating twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays; and London Southend to Malta starting October 29 and operating twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays.
