easyJet, European regional airline, has launched its first flight from London Southend Airport to Bordeaux in South West France.
The new service is the first of four services to launch this summer. Operating three times a week, easyJet will operate the new Bordeaux route on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
easyJet will also launch new routes from Southend to summer holiday hotspots Prague, Pula and Dubrovnik this summer. The airline is expected to carry over one million annual passengers to and from the airport for the first time this year – a 25% year on year rise in passenger numbers. It is also planning expand its fleet with the addition of a new aircraft at the base.
