Scottish regional airline Loganair has said that it is resuming its route between Cornwall Airport Newquay and Manchester from February 10 – earlier than planned.

The airline had planned to recommence routes within its summer 2023 schedule from March 26, 2023. However, with increasing demand for a direct service between Newquay and Manchester for the February half term holiday, the airline has decided to resume the route earlier than previously scheduled.

Luke Lovegrove, Chief Commercial Officer at Loganair, said: ‘We’re very pleased to announce the early recommencement of our Newquay – Manchester route benefiting those with February half-term travel plans.

‘We continue to work closely with the teams at both airports and are keen to maximise the potential of this route in line with our continued commitment to UK regionally connectivity.’

Amy Smith, Head of Commercial at Cornwall Airport Newquay said ‘It is fantastic that Loganair have decided to return to Cornwall earlier than expected. Cornwall is more than a summer destination and this February start as a result of the demand the airline is seeing is a good indication of that.

‘We’re anticipating continued strong growth in passenger numbers next year and are very pleased that Loganair will play a key part in that as one of our valued airline partners.’

The new service will operate daily, on a mix of Loganair’s 72-seat ATR-72’s and 49-seat ERJ-145’s offering customers short breaks or longer stays for business and leisure purposes. The one hour and 25 minute flight will initially depart at 12.45 from Newquay, moving to twice daily with departure times of 10.35 and 14.00 on select dates from April. Fares commence from £59.97 one-way and are inclusive of 15kg of luggage. Flights are now available to book.

Customers travelling from Cornwall Airport Newquay can also benefit from Loganair’s regional network and join onward connections from Manchester to Aberdeen, Isle of Man and Inverness.
