Monarch Airlines, a UK-based airline company, has announced its new schedule of flights from East Midlands Airport, in the UK.

The airline is to commence operations from its newest base in the UK from August 31, 2012, with the launch of new routes.

The airline is offering its customers an expanded Winter 2012 and Summer 2013 schedule of services from East Midlands Airport to Tenerife and Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, and Ibiza in the Mediterranean. The services include two new weekly flights to Tenerife, and two new weekly flights to Lanzarote.

The airline managing director, Kevin George, said, ‘We have been delighted by the response to the announcement that we will be opening a new base and new flights from East Midlands Airport this summer. Demand for flights has been already been strong and it is great that hot on the heels of the launch, we are able to expand our network and add new routes to Tenerife, Lanzarote and Ibiza.’

He added, ‘The rapid expansion of our network from East Midlands Airport is testament to our commitment to provide choice, value and superior customer service to more and more customers in the Midlands.’

The airline has earlier announced its new services from East Midlands Airport, including daily services to the Mediterranean destinations of Malaga (Spain), Alicante (Spain), Faro (Portugal) and Palma (Majorca). The services, part of its Summer 2012 schedule, commence from East Midlands Airport from August 31, 2012. The airfares will start from GBP5.99 per person one-way.
