Pegasus Airlines has signed a monumental agreement with Boeing for the acquisition of 200 aircraft, marking the largest order in the airline’s history. The deliveries from this historic deal are set to commence in 2028, aligning with Pegasus Airlines’ ambitious growth targets.

Renowned for operating the youngest fleet in Türkiye and among the youngest worldwide, Pegasus Airlines continues its strategic expansion with this significant investment in next-generation aircraft. Following a comprehensive evaluation of fleet requirements for 2028 and the following decade, the airline has committed to 200 Boeing 737-10 aircraft. The agreement includes a firm order for 100 aircraft, with an additional 100 purchase options that may be converted into firm orders in the future. The total contract value for the 200 aircraft is estimated at 36 billion USD, based on Boeing’s publicly announced list prices.

This substantial order not only underscores Pegasus Airlines’ growth objectives but also reflects its dedication to achieving its 2050 sustainability goals. The agreement highlights the strong partnership between Pegasus Airlines and Boeing, representing a pivotal moment for fostering domestic and international collaborations in the aviation sector.

Güliz Öztürk, CEO of Pegasus Airlines, commented:
“As a leading stakeholder in our country’s tourism sector, which creates net cash inflows and the highest added value for our country, and has shown record-breaking growth after the pandemic; we are working tirelessly to reach new record-highs and do our part for Türkiye to achieve the targeted 100 million visitors and 100 billion USD in revenue in tourism.

“We continue to invest in our fleet in line with our growth targets in Türkiye and globally, and to expand our network by launching new routes. Currently, with an average age of 4.5 years, we have the youngest fleet in Türkiye and rank among the airlines with the youngest fleets in the world. Within the scope of our agreement with Boeing, we have ordered a total of 200 Boeing 737-10 aircraft.

“The first 100 aircraft, for which we have placed firm orders, will begin joining our fleet starting in 2028. We will evaluate converting the remaining 100 aircraft options into firm orders in the coming years, based on market conditions and the needs of our fleet.

“Boeing aircraft have been an integral part of our operations since Pegasus entered the aviation industry in 1990. We are pleased to be expanding our fleet with the new Boeing 737-10 model aircraft. We are confident that our collaboration will create new opportunities for local manufacturing, technology transfer, R&D, training, and employment in the Turkish aviation industry.

“When considered within the scope of Boeing’s National Aerospace Initiative launched with the Turkish government in 2017, our order will also open new doors and create production and export opportunities both for Turkish manufacturers and for the wider aviation industry.”

A Commitment to Efficiency and Sustainability

The Boeing 737-10, the largest aircraft in Boeing’s 737 MAX series, delivers exceptional efficiency for short- and medium-haul routes. Equipped with CFM International LEAP-1B engines, the aircraft achieves 20% lower fuel consumption compared to its predecessors. With seating for up to 230 passengers, it also offers a more comfortable travel experience, featuring a spacious cabin and enhanced overhead luggage compartments.
