    easyJet expands Birmingham operations with new three-aircraft base

    easyJet, has announced the early opening of its new three-aircraft base in Birmingham, set to commence operations from March 18, 2024. This strategic move enables easyJet to broaden its Birmingham network, introducing 16 new routes and providing Midlands customers with increased flight options.

    The expansion encompasses a total of 29 routes, covering destinations across the UK, Europe, and North Africa. In addition to the 13 existing key domestic and international services, this development is poised to serve both leisure and business travellers departing from Birmingham, the UK’s second-largest city.

    Commencing operations on March 18, 2024, new routes include flights to Antalya and Barcelona, offering year-round service twice a week and three times a week, respectively. Further expansions follow with new routes to Alicante and Tenerife (starting 19 March), Larnaca, Malaga, and Enfidha (starting 20 and 21 March), Berlin (1 April), Sharm el Sheikh (2 April), Jersey (2 April), Heraklion (3 April), Dalaman and Fuerteventura (4 April), Rhodes (23 April), Corfu (1 May), and Kos (3 May).

    To facilitate the booking process, easyJet is offering thousands of package holidays to its new destinations, including flights, hotels, 23kg luggage, and transfers. These packages are available for travel from March 18, 2024 onward and come with the Ultimate Flexibility guarantee, offering the freedom to change bookings, a refund guarantee, and a best price guarantee.

    Ali Gayward, UK Country Manager at easyJet, said: ‘We are delighted to be opening our Birmingham base early, demonstrating our continued confidence in the region with customers choosing us for our trusted brand, unrivalled network and great value fares.

    ‘With flights for 16 new routes on sale from this Thursday, we’re offering our customers in the Midlands even more choice when planning their holidays and we can’t wait to welcome them onboard.’

    Tom Screen, aviation director for Birmingham Airport, said: ‘Antalya, Barcelona, Berlin, Fuerteventura, Enfidha, Sharm el Sheikh, Rhodes, Dalaman, Jersey, Larnaca, Malaga, Alicante, Tenerife, Corfu, Kos and Heraklion – 16 new destinations easyJet will begin serving in the weeks from March 2024 when they open their three-aircraft base at BHX.’
