Leisure airline and package holiday specialist Jet2.com and Jet2holdiays has recently launched flights to Malta from three UK bases – London Stansted, Birmingham and Belfast International – offering holidaymakers more services to the beautiful island.

With the three new services, Jet2 will operate to Malta from eight UK bases for summer 2018, in addition to existing routes from East Midlands, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle. Including these brand new routes, Jet2 is expanding capacity to Malta by 60 percent for summer 2018 – offering almost 65,000 seats on sale to Malta, compared to 40,000 last summer.

With its unique festivals and events, including some of the biggest DJs and acts, Malta is one of the on-demand holiday destinations for the younger demographic, as well as the couples and families who prefer holidaying in Malta. Events such as Isle of MTV, Annie Mac Presents and Rock The South are particularly popular with younger holidaymakers.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: ‘Malta has been a destination that has continued to grow and grow, and this success is seeing it become a firm favourite with Britons of all ages. As a result, we are delighted to be helping our colleagues at Visit Malta tell the story of the island and the huge range of fantastic offerings that it has for all British holidaymakers, whether that be year-round sunshine, stunning nature, live music or its rich culture and history.’

Malta International Airport CEO, Alan Borg, said: ‘We’re delighted that Jet2.com shares our belief that our island brims with potential as a tourist destination, and will be offering an enhanced summer schedule to our top market – the United Kingdom – with the introduction of these three new routes. Looking ahead, we hope that we can continue to work in close collaboration with this airline with the aim of offering more convenient connections to the United Kingdom even in the winter months.’

For summer 2018, Jet2 has 60 hotels on sale in resorts including St Julian’s, St Paul’s Bay, Gozo, Qawra, Sliema, Mellieha and Valletta. The hotels range from two star through to exclusive five star properties via our ‘Indulgent Escapes’ brand, Jet2 said.

Flights and holidays are available for booking at www.jet2.com or www.jet2holidays.com.
