UK holidaymakers looking for a summer getaway have more choices this year, as easyJet added a new Dubrovnik route from London Luton, the TTG has reported.
Starting May 24, the UK-based budget airline will operate a twice-weekly service from London Luton to the costal location of Dubrovnik, known as the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’. One of the most well known tourist destinations in Croatia, the city has become popular with British tourists in recent years.
The airline is expecting to fly 21,000 tourists between Dubrovnik and its Bedfordshire base each year.
Simon Harley, head of business development for London Luton Airport, said: ‘I’m delighted to welcome yet another exciting new addition to London Luton’s extensive route network.
‘The launch of easyJet’s service to Dubrovnik is fantastic news and provides passengers in the region with even more choice this summer.’
Neil Slaven, Commercial Manager at easyJet, said: ‘We’re pleased to be adding another destination to our network from London Luton Airport. Dubrovnik overlooks the waters of the Adriatic, it’s famed for being a walled city with recent Unesco world heritage status and offers easyJet customers flying from Luton a great summer holiday destination.
‘We expect Dubrovnik to be extremely popular for those who wish to get some easy and affordable summer sun and explore all it has to offer.’
With the latest addition, easyJet will serve 52 destinations from London Luton for next summer with a fleet of 19 aircraft based at the airport. The budget airline last month said that it has added 12 weekly summer flights from London Luton Airport to Amsterdam and Barcelona.
