Cardiff Airport has invited travellers and the general public to visit the free Holiday Market, being organised at the Wales’ national airport on February 16.

Held in partnership with Regal Travel, more than 40 operators including P&O Cruises, Vueling Airlines and Newmarket Holidays will be displaying their wares at the event. Regal Travel’s holiday experts will be on hand to provide free advice and take bookings. Each visitor will also be offered the chance to enter a Free Prize Draw to win a holiday.

The Holiday Market will be open from 11am to 4pm. Visitors will be given a ‘passport’ and entry to the Free Prize Draw for a chance to win a break with Red Sea Holidays. The all-inclusive holiday is for two people to the Siva Sharm Resort & Spa, a year round sunshine destination that is available from Cardiff.

Real Radio breakfast show presenters, Jagger and Woody, will be at the Holiday Market to help build the holiday mood, and the Real Patrol will be giving away goodies for everyone.

Other exhibitors include Penderyn Welsh Whiskey, the Airport’s Executive Lounge, and tax and duty-free shop, Nuance, with a selection of goods that can be bought on the day. Family entertainment will also be provided in partnership with local charity, Ty Hafan.

Visitors can also attend seminars from Red Sea Holidays, Travel Indochina, Travelsphere, Omega Holidays, APT Touring and Scenic Tours, to find out more about the specific destinations they offer.

Airport chief executive, Jon Horne, said: ‘We are very excited to host the Holiday Market for the first time at the Airport this year with Regal Travel having held successful events for many years now.

‘The new destinations and schedules available mean Cardiff Airport now offers literally something for everyone and the Holiday Market will be a great way for travellers to get some inspiration or more detail on destinations they already have in mind for their 2014 holiday plans.

‘Our passengers want more routes so that they have more options to fly from Cardiff, and this remains our focus.’

The Holiday Market follows the recent addition of new flights to Chambery, Geneva, Grenoble and Lyon, as well as the launch of new airlines including CityJet and Germanwings, plus Caribbean and Mediterranean fly cruises.
