easyJet, the UK-based low fares airline, is planning to launch two new routes from Bristol Airport to the Ionian island of Kefalonia and the Croatian city of Pula, starting next year.

The new service to Kefalonia will start on April 22, 2017, operating twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays during summer with fares starting from £30.49 one-way. Pula, which is also a summer service, will operate every Saturday from May 27, 2017 with fares starting from £35.49 one-way. The new routes are available for booking at www.easyjet.com.

Known for its scenic beaches, traditional fishing villages and tavernas, Kefalonia was made the setting for Louis de Berniere’s famous novel-turned-film Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. The 3,000 year-old city of Pula is located on Croatia’s Istrian Peninsula and features several cultural sites including a Roman Ampitheatre and the Temple of Augustus.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Commercial Manager, said: ‘We’re really pleased to announce these two new beautiful destinations to our network from Bristol Airport and we are confident they’ll be very popular with our passengers. Many people are already starting to plan ahead for their summer holidays next year and with flights now on sale, they can take advantage of our low fares.

‘With these two new routes, easyJet now flies to 62 destinations across Europe and beyond from Bristol Airport. It’s one of the biggest bases in our network and we’re committed to ensuring we continue to provide the best service and choice of destinations to our passengers in the South-West.’

Peter Downes, Bristol Airport’s Head of Aviation said: ‘We’re delighted that easyJet are continuing to grow their network at Bristol Airport with the addition of these two fabulous destinations. easyJet’s continued expansion of their Bristol base is a real vote of confidence in the region, and ensures that customers living in the South West and Wales will enjoy more choice of than ever before when it comes to the routes available from their favourite local Airport.’
