UK-based travel and holiday company Jet2 has said that it will add more flights to the Canary Islands from East Midlands Airport between February and April 2020, following increased demand for winter sun as well as holidays earlier in the season.

The addition of more flights to Tenerife and Gran Canaria from February through to April will offer local holidaymakers more choice and flexibility when it comes to winter sun and holidays outside of the main summer season.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: ‘We have responded quickly to extra demand for flights and holidays to Gran Canaria and Tenerife, by adding more of our award-winning flights and ATOL protected package holidays from East Midlands Airport. Thanks to this latest expansion at East Midlands Airport, holidaymakers now have even more choice and flexibility when it comes to Winter Sun and holidays outside of the main summer season, including during the February school holidays and Easter.’

The announcement represents a total of 17 additional return services, and further expands the airline’s programme from East Midlands Airport. The additional flights include:

Extra weekly Friday services to Gran Canaria starting from February 14 through to April 17, which is timed for both the February school holidays and Easter. With this, Jet2 will operate up to four weekly services to Gran Canaria during this period.

An extra service to Tenerife on Tuesdays, starting from February 11 until March 24, timed for the February school holidays. With this addition, Jet2 will operate up to six weekly flights to the popular Canary Islands hotspot from February.

With the addition, the airline will offer up to 16 weekly flights to the Canary Islands during this period.
