Jet2 resumes flights and holidays programme from Birmingham Airport

Jet2 has said that it has recommenced its flights and holidays programme services from Birmingham Airport and will operate to 33 destinations this summer.

Recommencing the services, 10 Jet2 flights have departed from Birmingham Airport to holiday destinations in Heraklion (Crete), Menorca, Majorca, Malaga, Corfu, Skiathos, Fuerteventura, Split, Zante and Tenerife, where travel restrictions have been eased. The company said that it will operate to 33 destinations this summer from Birmingham Airport, giving customers choice for their holidays, as well as assurance that their stay will be quarantine-free.

The full list of destinations on sale for Summer 20 with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays by country includes Malaga, Alicante, Costa de Almeria, Murcia in Mainland Spain; Ibiza, Menorca, Majorca in Balearic Islands; Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Tenerife, Gran Canaria in Canary Islands; Antalya, Dalaman, Bodrum in Turkey; Pula, Dubrovnik, Split in Croatia; Larnaca, Paphos in Cyprus commencing August 1; Prague in Czech Republic starting September; Bergerac in France; Corfu, Crete (Chania), Crete (Heraklion), Skiathos, Kos, Rhodes, Zante in Greece; Budapest in Hungary; Krakow in Poland; Rome in Italy starting September and Faro, Madeira in Portugal, commencing August 1.

Jet2.com announces scheduled services from Birmingham Airport to Iceland for Winter 20/21

Jet2.com has announced plans to launch scheduled flights to Iceland from Birmingham Airport for the first time for Winter 20/21 – the only airline to fly to Keflavik International Airport from Birmingham Airport to see the Northern Lights.

The UK-based airline will operate twice weekly services on a Monday and Thursday from Birmingham Airport for customers wanting to see the spectacular Northern Lights. The services will operate from October 1 to November 23, and February 11 and April 26.

The flight-only deals start from £65 per person one way and the package holiday options – with a three, four or seven-night stay with Jet2CityBreaks – start from £369 per person.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays expands summer programme from Birmingham Airport

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, the UK-based leisure airline and package holiday specialist, has announced its latest expansion at Birmingham Airport, with over 2.2 milion seats on sale for Summer 2020.

The company has introduced ten new destinations for Summer 2020 and announced the addition of a fourth additional aircraft into its fleet from mid-July, meaning it will have 14 based aircraft at Birmingham Airport this summer.

With the announcement, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays is also adding more flights to popular destinations across Greece, Turkey and Spain during the peak summer season. Jet2.com and Jet2holidays adds Santorini from Birmingham Airport

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has announced its third new Greek destinations from Birmingham Airport for Summer 2020 – the beautiful island of Santorini.

In response to increasing demand for holidays to Greece, Jet2 said it will operate a weekly Tuesday service from Birmingham to Santorini in Summer 2020. This will run from May 5 until October 27, and the scale of the programme represents almost 10,000 seats on sale in total.

Besides enjoying beautiful views along the caldera, holidaymakers can see the sunset at Oia, enjoy the local vineyards, or visit several key archaeological sites, such as ancient Akrotiri, a Minoan settlement preserved under volcanic ash. Jet2 has announced the launch of the new Vibe by Jet2holidays, which targets the ‘millennial mindset’ holidaymakers looking for a typical ’18-30s’ holiday overseas.

Jet2.com announces expanded winter programme, opens operational base at Tenerife South Airport

The UK-based travel and holiday company Jet2.com has announced the expansion of its flights programme to the Canary Islands for this winter, adding that it has opened an operational base at Tenerife South Airport to support the winter programme.

Jet2 has added over 200,000 departing seats from across nine of its UK bases this winter, in response to increasing demand from British holidaymakers looking to visit Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria.

To support this expanded Canary Islands operation, the company has opened an Operational Base at Tenerife South Airport, enabling it to have a spare aircraft and replacement crew on permanent standby. The new base will support an expanded flying programme, with daily and multiple weekly flights operating to Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria this winter.

Jet2 announces more flights to Canaries from Belfast International Airport

The UK-based travel and holiday company Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has announced more seats and holidays for Summer 2020 in the Canary Islands from Belfast International Airport in response to extra demand from Northern Ireland holidaymakers.

Jet2 said that it has added 10,000 departing seats to Tenerife and around 10,000 departing seats to Lanzarote. The latest expansion would mean that nearly 130,000 seats will be on sale to the Canary Islands from Belfast International Airport in Summer 2020, an increase of 33 percent on Summer 19.

With 11 weekly flights to the Canary Islands, the expansion includes additional weekly Monday services to Tenerife from May through to October, as Jet2 will operate up to four weekly services to Tenerife during this period. An additional Tuesday service will be added to Lanzarote from May through to October, offering up to three weekly flights to this popular Canary Islands hotspot.

In addition to the services to Lanzarote and Tenerife, Jet2 will also offer two weekly services to both Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura from Belfast International Airport for Summer 2020.

Other key highlights on Jet2’s Summer 2020 programme include: over 50 departing weekly flights during peak periods, increased seats to sunshine favourites Palma (Majorca), Malaga, Malta and Reus (Costa Dorada); weekly services to Antalya and Izmir on top of twice weekly services to Dalaman, Turkey.

Further, over 10,000 seats will be on sale to Cyprus, weekly services will be operated to the Greek sun spots in Crete (Heraklion), Rhodes or Zante, increased choice and flexibility to hotspots such as Costa de Almeria, Alicante, Girona (Costa Brava), Ibiza and Menorca; up to five weekly services to Faro (Algarve, with flights on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday; services every Sunday to Naples, from April until November; and a weekly Tuesday service to Bourgas (Bulgaria) operating on larger aircraft.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays adds 170,000 departing seats across UK bases

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has announced the addition of thousands of seats and holidays to winter-sun destinations in the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Turkey, Greece, Cyprus, Malta and Spain in response to extra demand.

The UK-based travel and holiday company has added over 170,000 departing seats between October and March from across its UK bases, with a major focus on October and the school holidays.

The increase in capacity includes over 65,000 additional departing seats from Manchester, nearly 40,000 additional departing seats from Birmingham, over 20,000 additional departing seats from Glasgow and 15,000 additional departing seats from Newcastle. There are also extra seats on sale from Belfast International, Edinburgh, East Midlands and London Stansted. The seats are available for booking currently.

The extra capacity announced includes over 100,000 additional seats now on sale departing to the Canary Islands between October and March. This includes over 50,000 additional seats to Tenerife and almost 40,000 additional seats to Lanzarote as well as more flying to Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura.

Nearly 30,000 additional seats have been added to Turkey, with additional flights to Antalya and Dalaman. Further, extra flights have been added to serve several destinations in Greece, including Corfu, Crete (Heraklion), Kos and Rhodes – amounting to 5,000 additional departing seats to Greece this winter.

In addition, over 10,000 additional departing seats are available for booking to the Balearic Islands – Palma (Majorca), Menorca and Ibiza. Jet2 has also added more seats to Cyprus, with extra capacity to Larnaca and Paphos, as well as extra capacity to Malta and Reus (Costa Dorada) for winter.

Jet2.com announces new ski destination from Birmingham Airport for winter 19/20

UK airline Jet2.com has announced a new ski destination to Innsbruck, giving skiers and snowboarders travelling from Birmingham Airport more choice for this winter.

Jet2.com has put a weekly Saturday service on sale to the capital city of the Tyrol region from December 21 until April 11, 2020.

Innsbruck – the host of the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics – provides access to ski resorts such as Nordkette, Mutteralm, Axamer, Obergugl, Igls and Seefeld.

With the addition, Jet2.com will operate to five ski destinations in winter, the other four being Geneva, Grenoble, Salzburg and Turin, providing direct access to the French, Austrian, Swiss and Italian Alps.

Skiers and snowboarders will now have increased choice and flexibility, with over 55,000 ski seats on sale for winter 19/20 from Birmingham Airport.

Jet2.com introduces in-flight gluten-free and vegan meal options for customers to pre-order

British airline company Jet2.com has introduced two gluten-free meals and two vegan options to its selection of pre-ordered meals.

Jet2 said that in direct response to demand from customers, the company has added two gluten-free options to give customers increased choice of meals when flying with the airline. The Gluten Free Roast Chicken Dinner includes a traditional roast chicken breast with grilled potatoes and vegetables, served with a gluten-free gravy. The All-Day Gluten Free Breakfast is topped with grilled bacon, scrambled egg, rosti potatoes, and sautéed mushrooms in a tomato sauce.

In addition, following demand from customers who have removed animal products from their diet, Jet2 has introduced two new vegan meals, including an All-Day Vegan Breakfast featuring a grilled vegan sausage, rosti potatoes, and sautéed mushrooms in a tomato sauce, as well as a Vegan Moroccan Vegetable Tagine served with couscous.

The airline has introduced several culinary announcements this year, giving customers a wider range of in-flight food choice. In January, Jet2 added its first ever vegan option to its in-flight menu, with the introduction of a Penne Arrabbiata pasta dish, and in May the airline introduced two Nando’s snacks to its new in-flight menu – the first UK airline to introduce Nando’s onboard.

The new in-flight meals will be onboard flights starting today, August 2. They can be purchased when booking with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays or can be ordered post-booking.
