Jet2.com has announced plans to launch scheduled flights to Iceland from Birmingham Airport for the first time for Winter 20/21 – the only airline to fly to Keflavik International Airport from Birmingham Airport to see the Northern Lights.

The UK-based airline will operate twice weekly services on a Monday and Thursday from Birmingham Airport for customers wanting to see the spectacular Northern Lights. The services will operate from October 1 to November 23, and February 11 and April 26.

The flight-only deals start from £65 per person one way and the package holiday options – with a three, four or seven-night stay with Jet2CityBreaks – start from £369 per person.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: ‘Following the enormous popularity of our services to Iceland, we are delighted to be launching scheduled services from Birmingham Airport for the very first time. This means we are the only airline to operate to Iceland from Birmingham, and we are also giving customers fantastic choice and flexibility, at the best times of year when it comes to witnessing the magical Northern Lights.’

Tom Screen, Aviation Director of Birmingham Airport said: ‘We are delighted that Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks will be offering customers of the Midlands direct scheduled flights to Iceland this Winter. This unserved destination from Birmingham Airport is hugely popular with customers who are in search of a visit to the Northern Lights or want to take in the stunning scenery of this volcanic island. Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks offers fabulous customer service and friendly low fares that appeal to all.’

Package options with Jet2CityBreaks include a guided Northern Lights Tour, flights with Jet2.com including 22kg hold luggage, transfers to and from the airport, as well as a choice of 3 and 4-star hotels in central Reykjavik. In addition, excursions to the Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon are also available to purchase. The travel and holiday can be booked at www.jet2.com or www.jet2CityBreaks.com.
