Hilton Manchester Deansgate is participating in Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s ‘Great Pink Bake Off’ campaign, with a special pink-themed menu and Pink Afternoon Tea.

Executive head chef, David Gale, created the special menu, and £1 from every cover will be donated to the charity. The Pink Afternoon Tea will be exclusively available in the hotel’s Cloud 23 Bar throughout the month of October, priced at £27.95.

The menu includes an assortment of sandwiches consisting of smoked salmon; chicken with roast peppers; roasted vegetables with humus and a cheese and chilli wrap. The choice for dessert includes cherry scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream; chocolate cupcakes with pink frosting; strawberry macaroons; and vanilla éclairs with pink icing. To complete the repast, a 1930s Cosmopolitan is on offer made from Tanqueray gin, raspberry syrup, Cointreau and lemon juice.

John McLaughlin, general manager, Hilton Manchester Deansgate, said, ‘We are delighted to be supporting Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s ‘Go Pink’ campaign this October with our Pink Afternoon Tea. Afternoon Tea is extremely popular at Cloud 23 so I’m sure we will be able to make a positive contribution to the charity through this initiative. I want to encourage the diners of Manchester to get behind us and support this very worthwhile cause by treating themselves and their friends and family to a special Pink Afternoon Tea.’

Sian Fraser, head baker for Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s Great Pink Bake Off, said, ‘We hope everyone gets involved with this year’s Great Pink Bake Off. The need for Breakthrough’s research has never been greater; breast cancer is still the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK, affecting 50,000 women every year and killing 1,000 every month. We are urging everyone to raise some dough and help us beat breast cancer.’
