The hotel brand, Le Meridien, has announced the opening of the first Le Meridien hotel in Algeria.
The new Le Meridien Oran Hotel & Convention Centre, in Oran, claims to offer stunning views of the coastline and one of the largest conference facilities in North Africa.
The hotel is part of a mixed-use development, which includes a neighbouring conference and exhibition centre and an oceanfront esplanade.
Roeland Vos, the company president, for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, said, ‘We are proud to partner with Sonatrach as we introduce the Le Meridien brand to Algeria. This spectacular new hotel allows us to showcase Le Meridien brand’s contemporary lifestyle and sophisticated origins in the city of Oran and further underlines our commitment to continued expansion in the region.’
The new Le Meridien Oran hotel features 254 guest rooms and 42 suites, with Le Meridien brand amenities. The signature spa located inside the hotel offers eight treatment rooms, a jacuzzi, a Turkish Hammam, an outdoor pool and fitness centre. The dining outlets include an all-day dining restaurant, a lounge bar, an authentic Italian restaurant and a lobby bar.
Event spaces include 9,000 square metres of flexible meeting space, including two ballrooms, a pre-function area and 23 meeting rooms.
The hotel also offers the signature Le Meridien arrival experience, and a newly developed Le Meridien Hub experience. The introductory room rates commence from €170 per night.
Vincent Gillet, the global brand leader for Le Meridien and W Hotels Worldwide, said, ‘Le Meridien has long had a presence in Africa, and the opening of Le Meridien Oran is a key milestone as we celebrate the brand’s strongest portfolio and performance levels in its history.’
