The new ME by Melia brand hotel from Melia Hotels International, a Spain-based hotel company, will be opening in London later this month.

The new ME London is located on the Strand, close to Covent Garden, and Trafalgar Square, and is also close to London’s art galleries, museums, restaurants, bars, shopping and nightlife.

The hotel has 157 contemporary rooms, 17 suites and 1 designer suite, SuiteME. The ME London also has The Level, an exclusive adults-only floor with private check in/out, complimentary local calls, and the use of an iPod during the stay.

The other hotel amenities include two restaurants, a Rooftop Club bar with views of the River Thames, underground parking, 24-hr room service, a business centre, a fitness facility, complimentary Wi-Fi throughout hotel, and 730 sq m of meeting spaces.

The opening of the hotel will also see the European launch of the STK restaurant, a popular American steakhouse-type dining venue, especially designed for female clientele, and owned by The ONE Group, a US based company.

Gabriel Escarrer, the vice chairman and chief executive officer of Melia Hotels International, said, ‘Thanks to its location and outstanding product and service quality, the opening of this hotel after the Olympics will represent a fundamental step forward in our globalisation process and also make a major contribution to the London luxury hotel scene.’

ME by Melia is the fifth property of the brand, in addition to its four existing hotels, the ME Madrid Hotel and the ME Barcelona Hotel, and the two in Cancun, and Cabo San Lucas.

Once open, the hotel room rates will commence from £340 per night.
