Ryanair announces Summer 2022 schedule at East Midlands, Winter Sun seat sale

Ryanair has announced its Summer 2022 schedule from East Midlands Airport with over 30 routes and 130 weekly flights across 31 European destinations from April.

With the new schedule, UK families and travellers can now book a summer holiday to European hotspots such as Alicante, Barcelona, Lanzarote, Malaga, Mallorca, Rhodes and Tenerife, among others. Alongside the announcement, Ryanair has launched a £19.99 seat sale for travel until the end of October 2022, which must be booked by midnight Saturday, November 6. Tickets are available to book at www.ryanair.com.

Ryanair’s Director of Commercial, Jason McGuinness, said: ‘As Europe’s No.1 airline, we are pleased to extend our partnership with East Midlands Airport and announce our Summer 2022 schedule, connecting UK families to a host of European hotspots for their much deserved Summer 2022 holiday.

We are launching a seat sale to celebrate the Summer 2022 schedule from East Midlands Airport, with fares available from just £19.99 for travel until the end of October 2022 which must be booked on the Ryanair website by midnight Saturday, 6th November 2021. Our customers can now book a Summer getaway to the likes of Alicante, Chania, Lanzarote, Malaga, Mallorca, Rome, Tenerife and many more on amazing low fares.

While Ryanair welcomes the UK Govt’s decision to reduce domestic APD from Summer 2023, it is neither sufficient nor timely enough to kickstart the UK’s tourism recovery, particularly for Summer 2022. Unfortunately, this delay will only damage the airline industry’s ability to rapidly rebuild connectivity, jobs and tourism.

Ryanair calls on the UK Govt to immediately abolish APD for all travel, which would give both tourism and domestic UK connectivity a much-needed boost for this Winter and next Summer.’

Ryanair has also launched a Winter Sun seat sale, with over 530 routes to choose from across the Ryanair network. With over 80,000 seats available, British travellers and can choose from a range of winter sun destinations including Faro, Lanzarote, Malaga and Tenerife this November and December, for fares from £9.99. To benefit from the low fares, customers may visit the Ryanair.com website to book their flights before midnight, November 14, 2021.

easyJet launches more flights and holidays to green list destinations this summer

easyJet is launching more flights from the UK to serve demand for travel to green list destinations this summer and has put over 80,000 additional seats on sale across existing routes from the UK.

The UK-based airline will also relaunch its route from Newcastle to Faro which will operate up to three times a week from July 19, 2021, with both flights and holidays now available to book online at easyJet.com.

Johan Lundgren, CEO of easyJet, commented: ‘We are absolutely committed to a safe restart and are confident this can happen while protecting both the UK health system and the success of the vaccine programme.

‘We are disappointed that so few countries were put onto the green list as it is simply not justified by the data or the science and is inconsistent with the approach to reopen the domestic economy.

‘However, easyJet is the biggest operator from the UK to the European countries which are currently on the Green list, and we have increased our flights to these destinations where we can in order to take as many customers away as possible to reunite them with friends and family or on a long-awaited holiday – and we are ready and able to ramp up.

‘We also expect the number of countries on the Green list to grow next month to include many of our popular summer destinations and we have flexible policies so customers can book with confidence and change their plans if they need to.’

Leon McQuaid, Head of Aviation Development at Newcastle International Airport said: ‘As the North East’s largest airport we are delighted to see ongoing investment by our airlines and welcome easyJet’s decision to reinstate flights to Faro, Portugal from July.

‘The Algarve region is renowned for its quality golf courses, stunning coastline and warm climate therefore we are sure there will be high demand for this service from the North East travelling public.

‘Our Ten Point Plan of safety measures ensures the airport is a safe environment for all, which includes an enhanced cleaning regime and over 100 hand sanitser stations throughout the terminal. We are very much looking forward to welcoming leisure passengers back for their well-deserved holidays.’

easyJet currently operates more seats on flights to European green list destinations than any other UK operator, with over 1.6 million seats now available to green list destinations. Flights and holidays are now on sale at easyJet.com with fares are available for this summer from £29.99 and package holidays from £269.
