First Class Holidays has recently taken a significant step by appointing Vicky Hart-Edwards as the new director of operations.

This decision aligns with the company’s strategic vision to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.

First Class Holidays has announced the recruitment of Vicky Hart-Edwards as the new director of operations. This strategic move comes in the wake of co-founder Sharon Mason’s impending retirement in August, after nearly 30 years with the company. Vicky Hart-Edwards, a veteran with over 20 years in the travel industry, is expected to bring her extensive experience in streamlining operations to the firm.

Vicky Hart-Edwards has been tasked with enhancing operational efficiencies for the long-haul specialist tour operator. Her prior role as head of operations and experience at Not Just Travel, along with stints at The Global Travel Group and Triton Rooms, underscore her capability in managing and improving business operations. “We are delighted to recruit someone of Vicky’s calibre and personality,” stated managing director Daniel Gathercole.

Hart-Edwards expressed her enthusiasm for the role. She aims to partner with department leaders to refine operations, advance technological integration for customer improvements, and introduce new destinations. Her focus is on nurturing and expanding partnerships within the travel trade to maintain and enhance First Class Holidays’ competitive edge.

In addition to Hart-Edwards’ appointment, Lorna Curry has been promoted to head of product, while Keir Ashley now manages products for South Africa and the Indian Ocean. These promotions reflect the company’s commitment to developing talent from within, ensuring a robust leadership team that can drive the company’s strategic vision forward. Product manager Ali Hampton and product executive Beth Fallon complete the expanded product team.

Darren McCormick, another notable figure within the company, has been promoted to oversee commercial aviation and manage the company’s airline partnerships. This role is crucial as First Class Holidays seeks to optimise its airline relationships, ensuring they align with the company’s broader strategic goals.

Daniel Gathercole emphasised the importance of constantly seeking new initiatives to stay ahead in the dynamic travel industry. The addition of Hart-Edwards is seen as pivotal in maintaining and improving service quality and market response times. “We need to ensure we are constantly looking at new initiatives and are ahead of the game,” he stated.

The changes at First Class Holidays, including new leadership and internal promotions, herald a new chapter for the company. There’s a clear focus on growth and operational excellence, supported by a leadership team well-equipped to adapt to industry challenges and opportunities.

The leadership changes at First Class Holidays signal a promising future marked by strategic growth.

With a strong focus on operational excellence and innovation, the company is well-positioned to navigate industry challenges.
