Her prior role as head of operations and experience at Not Just Travel, along with stints at The Global Travel Group and Triton Rooms, underscore her capability in managing and improving business operations. “We are delighted to recruit someone of Vicky’s calibre and personality,” stated managing director Daniel Gathercole.
Hart-Edwards expressed her enthusiasm for the role. She aims to partner with department leaders to refine operations, advance technological integration for customer improvements, and introduce new destinations. Her focus is on nurturing and expanding partnerships within the travel trade to maintain and enhance First Class Holidays’ competitive edge.
In addition to Hart-Edwards’ appointment, Lorna Curry has been promoted to head of product, while Keir Ashley now manages products for South Africa and the Indian Ocean. Product manager Ali Hampton and product executive Beth Fallon complete the expanded product team.
Darren McCormick, another notable figure within the company, has been promoted to oversee commercial aviation and manage the company’s airline partnerships. This role is crucial as First Class Holidays seeks to optimise its airline relationships, ensuring they align with the company’s broader strategic goals.
Daniel Gathercole emphasised the importance of constantly seeking new initiatives to stay ahead in the dynamic travel industry. The addition of Hart-Edwards is seen as pivotal in maintaining and improving service quality and market response times. “We need to ensure we are constantly looking at new initiatives and are ahead of the game,” he stated.
