Flight Centre, a prominent player in the travel industry, is expanding its collaboration with the adventure booking platform, TourRadar. This strategic partnership aims to enhance their online tour and adventure search offering, providing more than 8,000 multi-day tours and adventures for their customers. This increase in offerings includes tours from well-known operators such as Intrepid Travel, Trafalgar, Contiki, Globus, and G Adventures.
The expanded collaboration, which began in Australia, will be extended to other key markets including New Zealand, the UK, and Canada, all expected to go live by the end of September. This move signals Flight Centre’s commitment to providing a wide array of travel options to meet varied customer interests across these regions.
TourRadar will power the backend search functionality, allowing customers to view comprehensive details of each tour, such as images, itineraries, included amenities, reviews, current availability, and pricing. Despite TourRadar’s involvement, all tour inquiries and bookings will be managed directly through Flight Centre’s established global network of travel consultants.
This initiative builds on a successful integration of TourRadar’s API into Flight Centre’s in-house travel agent portal back in 2021. The existing system enables travel consultants to easily book preferred operators within a singular platform, streamlining the overall booking process.
Travis Pittman, co-founder and chief executive of TourRadar, stated, “We’re proud to partner with Flight Centre to give their customers access to our incredible range of organised adventures. Our partnership shows how the right technology can elevate the online customer experience and expand access to a world of adventure possibilities, while ensuring a seamless flow from discovery to enquiry to booking.”
Flight Centre’s global head of cruise and tour, Monique Van Gelder, emphasised the importance of providing optionality in meeting customers’ needs. She noted, “Optionality is key to our future plans and our flightcentre.com e-commerce site is evolving so we can continue to meet our customers’ desire to dream, plan and book their holidays online. With over 8,000 tours to browse from online, we’re able to showcase an unrivalled product offering to our customers.”
The strengthened partnership between Flight Centre and TourRadar exemplifies a forward-thinking approach to enhancing customer travel experiences through technology.
