In a bold move amidst regional instability, Intrepid has demonstrated resilience by enhancing its presence in the Middle East. A significant step in this direction is the establishment of their first destination management company in Jordan. This development is aimed at strengthening and expanding Intrepid’s footprint in the region, underscoring their commitment to growth and regional partnerships.
The new local team, based in Amman, is set to operate a diverse range of nine small group experiences across Jordan starting this summer. Intrepid’s strategic blueprint includes plans to expand these offerings in 2025 and beyond, reflecting their forward-thinking approach to regional tourism development.
Currently, Intrepid facilitates travel for 6,000 visitors from Europe, North America, and Australia to Jordan each year, with an ambitious aim to double this number by 2030. This target aligns with the company’s broader objective of scaling their operational capacity and appeal in the Middle East.
Zina Bencheikh, Managing Director for EMEA at Intrepid, remarked on the significance of opening a hub in Jordan, calling it “a significant milestone”. Bencheikh emphasised the wealth of opportunities Jordan presents, expressing that, “Despite the current crisis, Jordan has so much to offer our global travellers.”
The introduction of a dedicated DMC in Jordan is expected not only to elevate the travel offerings but also to enable Intrepid to implement new purpose-driven initiatives. With this move, Intrepid is poised to take advantage of Jordan’s rich cultural heritage and natural attractions, positioning it as a pivotal destination in their global portfolio.
Intrepid’s strategic expansion in Jordan signals a confident step towards future regional growth and enhanced traveller experiences.
