Significant leadership changes have been announced at Classic Collection Holidays.

    • Andy Freeth and Alexandre Gavalda have announced their departures from Classic Collection Holidays, signalling a shift in the company’s strategic direction.
    • Freeth, who served as CEO of the parent company, and Gavalda, the product and commercial director, were vital to the organisation’s recent developments.
    • Agency sales and marketing director Si Morris-Green will transition to B2B director, marking a key shift in the organisational structure.
    • The decision follows a leadership restructure influenced by a new partnership with Ryanair, impacting the B2B package bookings.

Significant leadership changes have been announced at Classic Collection Holidays, marking a new phase in the company’s growth and development. Andy Freeth and Alexandre Gavalda, pivotal figures in the company, have confirmed their departures. This development aligns with a strategic leadership restructure following an influential partnership announcement with Ryanair.

Andy Freeth, appointed as chief executive in November 2022, has been instrumental to the parent company’s market initiatives, overseeing both Classic Collection and Classic Package Holidays. He expressed his mixed emotions about leaving, stating, “I have really enjoyed my time with Classic Collection and On The Beach group. Whilst sad to leave I am equally excited to see what opportunities present themselves for the next chapter of my career.”

Alexandre Gavalda has also played a crucial role during his near five-year tenure, both as a product and commercial director. His expertise significantly influenced product development and commercial operations, drawing from his previous experience at Vivid Travel and Kuoni.

In this transition, agency sales and marketing director Si Morris-Green will assume the new role of B2B director, indicating a strategic pivot towards enhancing business-to-business engagements.

The leadership change comes amidst a broader restructuring necessitated by the company’s evolving strategy and logistics tied to its recent Ryanair partnership, which currently does not extend to B2B package bookings. A spokesperson from On the Beach articulated their commitment to maintaining robust trade relations and service excellence even amid these changes, acknowledging the contributions of Freeth and Gavalda.

On the Beach acquired Classic Collection in 2019, and the brand has since focused on providing luxury and package holidays primarily through independent travel agents. The company continues to adapt and respond to market needs, ensuring that its service and offerings evolve amidst shifting industry landscapes.

These leadership changes mark a pivotal moment in Classic Collection Holidays’ strategy to align with industry trends and partnerships.
