In a strategic move to enhance its presence in Europe, Reed & Mackay has acquired the Italian TMC Regent International. This acquisition aims to solidify Reed & Mackay’s standing in key European business travel markets.

    • The acquisition follows strong organic growth in Germany and France, complemented by a rebranding of its Spanish and Swedish operations.
    • Italy stands as a major business travel market, enhancing Reed & Mackay’s position as a leader in this sector.
    • Regent International, with offices in Rome and Milan, serves over 200 clients in various industries.
    • Reed & Mackay CEO Fred Stratford underscores the synergies in service values and market knowledge brought by Regent International.

Reed & Mackay’s acquisition of Regent International marks a significant expansion into the Italian market, a strategic effort to reinforce its European footprint. The company has strategically aligned itself with one of Europe’s most lucrative business travel sectors. This move is expected to consolidate its market presence across key European domains.

The past year has seen a substantial year-on-year growth of 28% for Reed & Mackay within mainland Europe, driven by the successful rebranding of its entities in Spain and Sweden. Germany and France have been notable pillars of this growth, showcasing the company’s robust development strategy in the region.

Recognised as the fourth-largest business travel market in Europe, Italy’s estimated annual business travel expenditure reaches $34 billion. By acquiring Regent International, Reed & Mackay positions itself advantageously, gaining access to critical infrastructures in Rome and Milan. This expands their client base by over 200 across sectors such as professional services, healthcare, and technology.

Giovanni Tiradritto, Regent International founder and managing director, expresses enthusiasm for the merger, stating, “I am incredibly proud of Regent’s reputation as a service leader in Italy, and we look forward to delivering this tailored service to Reed & Mackay’s international clients with travel and event needs in the Italian market.” This partnership promises enhanced buying power, broader international coverage, and improved technological capabilities.

This acquisition signifies a strategic enhancement of Reed & Mackay’s capabilities in the European business travel market.
