Royal Caribbean plans to host travel advisors at its new destination, Perfect Day Mexico, once it opens in 2027. This initiative aims to provide first-hand experience to the advisors, enhancing their ability to sell this exclusive destination effectively. As noted by Vicki Freed, the senior vice-president, sales, trade support and service of Royal Caribbean International, the resort will be featured on cruises departing from Florida and Galveston, Texas.
The Perfect Day Mexico resort is ambitiously laid out over a 200-acre site on the Caribbean coast in Mahahual. Freed highlighted that the location will follow the opening of another Royal Caribbean project, a Royal Beach Club in Cozumel, planned for 2026. This resort will echo the success of Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas, which is currently the cruise line’s top-rated destination, celebrated for its guest satisfaction.
The development plan for Perfect Day Mexico includes docking facilities for four ships, doubling the capacity of CocoCay. To maintain the site’s authenticity and ecological balance, approximately half of the land will remain environmentally protected. As Freed commented, the goal is to enhance rather than detract from the natural beauty of the location, offering myriad attractions such as water parks, an adults-only area, and numerous dining options.
Royal Caribbean is also focused on expansion, with the launch of the Star of the Seas in summer 2025 and the third Icon ship scheduled for 2026. By consistently introducing new vessels and destinations like Perfect Day Mexico, the company aims to keep travel advisors engaged and excited, given their vital role in driving cruise sales. This strategy reaffirms Royal Caribbean’s commitment to innovation and providing unique experiences to its customers.
Reflecting on the UK market, Freed observed the favourable combination of theme park visits in Orlando with sailings from Florida, which frequently include stops at Perfect Day. She emphasised that having exclusive destinations like Perfect Day at CocoCay is a unique selling proposition for the brand. In addition, Freed remarked on the vital role of travel advisors, who offer detailed guidance to consumers, thereby enriching their holiday experiences.
The anticipation for Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day Mexico is mounting, promising agents an exciting new venue to bolster their offerings.
