Gold Medal has unveiled an exciting opportunity for agents to win five places on a Sri Lanka fam trip, part of a promotional strategy for their newly launched Indian Ocean & Africa programme. The initiative aims to enhance agents’ first-hand knowledge of the region, which is seeing increased demand.

The comprehensive programme, showcased in a 140-page brochure, highlights an expanded portfolio with 36 new properties, as well as 15 tours and experiences. Destinations like the Maldives, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Seychelles, and several African nations including South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia are included, offering a diverse range of options for travellers.

Participation in the fam trip is incentivised as agents can secure three of the five spots by registering an Indian Ocean or Africa travel package with Gold Medal. An additional place will be awarded at the upcoming ‘Access All Areas’ event. Furthermore, a special wild card entry has been reserved, encouraging wide participation among travel professionals.

The Maldives remains a top performer in the region, alongside Mauritius which has experienced a 15% growth. Notably, Sri Lanka has seen an overwhelming 200% increase in interest, reflecting its potential as a future key destination. Meanwhile, Africa’s overall sales have surged by 55%, demonstrating a strong market presence.
